The goal of this workshop is to present and explore the development of recent advances of wireless security technologies in the areas of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). VANET security applications are being used in short- and medium-range communications using cellular and Wi-Fi/WiMAX systems. These applications include collision-detection and other vehicular safety warnings and messages, as well as non-safety applications, such as the real-time traffic updates streaming and many others.
The real challenge is to create highly reliable and scalable, high-performance, secure, and private VANET systems. This is due to the highly mobile environment with sudden changes in the network conditions and requiring very fast reactions. The deployment of Wi-Fi meshing systems, especially mobile-WiMAX (IEEE 802.16e) in the design of VANET systems, has created a window of opportunity in dealing with the security requirements of very fast moving network entities.
Authors are invited to submit their articles presenting new research ideas or survey of the existing schemes covering the theory and/or practical applications to VANET technologies. All submissions must describe original research or survey, not published or currently under review for another workshop, conference, or journal.
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
Submissions should include an abstract, 5-10 keywords, e-mail address of the
corresponding author, and the length of the paper should not exceed 6 pages
(IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns,
single-spaced), including tables, figures and references, using 10 fonts, and
number each page, in PDF or MS Word format. Click here to download the format: MS-WORD.
Submissions should directly be sent to mo.naserian@vector-cantech.com and svanet@inbox.com
Submission of a paper should be regarded as assurance that, should the paper be
accepted, at least one of the authors will attend the conference to present it.
Deadline for paper submissions: September 21, 2009
Notification to authors: October 15, 2009
Camera-ready copies of accepted papers due: October 30, 2009
