with my graduate student Joby Varghese, was selected as one of the ten
best papers in the MICAI, 2000, International conference (see 20
under section (c) in publications).
 
1996: NSF CAREER Award.
 
1996: Honored by the computer science club at IUPUI as
the best professor for 300-500 level courses.
 
1995: The NET (Network for Excellence in Teaching)
award at IUPUI.
 
1987: Awarded the Khambhati Memorial Gold Medal for the best M.E. student
in Systems Science and Automation at Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore , India .
 
1979-1985: National Merit Scholarship of the Government of India .
 
    SELECTED STUDENT HONORS AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
 
      Graduate student C. Tang received the best M.S. research award in the
School of Science at IUPUI in 2003.
